Do I have to be a patient of HF Healthcare to attend this event?

Of course not! We extend our invitation to families with a bleeding disorder.

What do I need to bring or pack?

What if I am a teenager (or a parent of a teen with a bleeding disorder) that wants to attend?

You’ve come to the right place! All immediate family members with a bleeding disorder are welcome to attend. Our spots are filled by a first come first serve basis, so RSVP ASAP!

What time do we arrive on Friday, July 28th, 2017?

Camp set up and check in is at 2PM on Friday.

What time do we leave on Sunday, July 30th, 2017?

We will be checking out at 11AM on Sunday.

Do I need to bring food or snacks?

That’s completely up to you! Meals will be provided through out the entire weekend.

What if I can't get transportation to the American River Resort?

Once everyone registers, we will create a carpool plan with the attendees.

Do I need proper car insurance if I drive myself or others to the event?

YES! Safety first 🙂

Where's the closest place to buy food or Supplies?

There’s a small lodge store located on the camp grounds for essential supplies like firewood, ice, drinks, snacks, general necessities, beer, wine and souvenirs.

Do I need to bring my own medical supplies and prescriptions?

Yes! Please bring enough supplies and medication for 3 days. We will have a safe, cool place to store it for you, if needed.

Do I need to bring my own tent and sleeping bag/pillow/blanket?

Yes, unless you have the survive skills of Bear Grylls.

What are the sleeping conditions like?

We reserved a humungous campsite right next to the American River, on the grass. You will set your tent up and sleep at the campsite.

What clothes should I pack?

Summer wear: Shorts/t-shirts during the day, and pants/sweatshirt for the evening. We hope it doesn’t rain, but plan for the unexpected!

Are showers/restrooms available?

Yes, showers and restrooms are available. Make sure your bring your own toiletry items.

Is there cell phone reception?

Maybe. Depending on your carrier, you might be able to pick up some signal.

Are there pay phones?

Yes.

What if I get lost on my way to the American River Resort?

If you don’t show up or hear from you around the scheduled 2PM check-in time, one of our staff members will try to call your cell phone from a pay phone to check in with you. If you get lost, one of our staff members will meet you, and you can follow them to Camp Lotus.

What if an emergency or injury happens?

We will have first aid available for minor situations, but if it is a serious emergency, we will call 911.
